It seem to rain for about 24 hours non stop leading up to the race then stop just before the start of the junior race at 10.30am. The constant rain ensured the course was particularly with Sussex clay ensuring the mud was of the best quality. A scenic location with the last parts running alongside lakes until the final short climb to the finish. The event was hosted by Uckfield Runners.

Super day for it with the Sun shining even if a bit cold and very windy, how I loved that headwind over the last mile, just what I needed after that long climb. What a difference a week makes: last Sunday I ran the Lewes 10 and everyone was complaining it was too hot! Not a problem today as the rain came down. Still this is cross country, and we run whatever the weather: and in spite of the weather there was record breakeing turn out with 213 finishers for the senior race. Thanks to Eastbourne Rovers for hosting the event.

Cold, muddy and windy but but dry so a treat after Ashdown forest but still a 'proper' cross country course. The course consists of 1 lap over an undulating course of woods and fields. After the event we had Tea and cakes and the benefit of shelter which went down a treat.

It has been a very competitive season reflected in a number or close results this year, in addition to the first and second team separated by just 2 points and a joint third team result on individual results there equal points within the top 3 for Men 40, Women 35 and Women 60: we have not seem that before. The first and second man was decided by just 1 point. Where there are finishers with equal points the position is decided based on the highest individual race result (and if that is the same the next highest etc).

I thought the previous race at Snape Wood was cold and muddy but this one added wind and rain to cold and even more mud, certainly a 'proper' cross country course. The course consist of 1 lap small and I large lap over an undulating course with amazing woods but offering little shelter from the wind and rain: for a forest remarkably lacking in trees.

A cold day for this course of woodland and mud, a 'proper' cross country course. This is a 2 lap undulating course through scenic woodland although, the u turn back up a hill when you think you are on the final descent to the finish is a special treat. In spite of the cold weather a good turnout with 139 runners for the main race.
